# Email permutator

> Type a name and a company domain to list every common email format, from first.last@ to initials. Copy one, copy all or download a CSV. Free, no sign-up.

Type a person’s name and their company’s domain, and get every common format their work address could take, roughly most common first. Copy one, copy them all or download a CSV. It runs in your browser and checks no mailbox.

Use the tool in a browser at [/tools/email-permutator](https://www.acquisity.ai/tools/email-permutator). It is free and needs no sign-up.

## What this permutator lists

- Common formats first: first.last@, first@ and flast@, then firstlast@, f.last@, firstl@, last@, first_last@, first-last@, lastfirst@, last.first@, lastf@, first.l@ and initials.
- With a middle name or initial, the forms that use it too, like first.m.last@ and fml@.
- Each address once, in lower case, with the name of its pattern beside it.

## How names are written

- Accents are dropped, and letters like ß, ø and ł are spelled out the way a mailbox would have them: José Muñoz gives jose.munoz@.
- Apostrophes, dots and the spaces in a two-word name are left out: O’Brien gives obrien, and van der Berg gives vanderberg.
- A hyphen inside a name stays: Smith-Jones gives smith-jones. Some companies drop it, so if no hyphenated guess works, try the name without it.
- If a name has a letter that can’t be spelled out in Latin letters, as in a name written in another alphabet, it asks for the Latin spelling instead of guessing.
- Paste a web address or someone’s email address into the domain field, and it takes the domain from it.

## It guesses. It doesn’t check.

This tool writes out addresses from common patterns. It doesn’t look up the company’s real format and doesn’t check that any mailbox exists, so most of these addresses won’t be real.

To narrow it down, find one real address at the same company, in an email signature, on their website or in a press release, and use the pattern it follows. A company usually gives everyone the same format.

Don’t send to every guess. Email to addresses that don’t exist bounces, and a high bounce rate can hurt how the rest of your email lands. Once you’ve narrowed it to one address, the [cold email template generator](https://www.acquisity.ai/tools/cold-email-template-generator) writes the first email.

## Questions

### What is an email permutator?

A tool that takes a person’s name and their company’s domain and writes out every common format their work address could take, like sarah.lee@acme.com or slee@acme.com.

### How do I find a company’s email format?

Find one real address from the same company, in an email signature, on their website or in a press release, and see which pattern it follows. This tool doesn’t look up a company’s format: it guesses from common patterns, and the row that matches the real address tells you the pattern to use for anyone else there.

### Does it check whether an email address exists?

No. It only writes out possible addresses. It doesn’t check mailboxes, look anything up or send any email, and what you type stays in your browser.

### Is it safe to email every guess?

No. Email to a guess that doesn’t exist bounces, and a high bounce rate can hurt how the rest of your email lands. Narrow it to one address first, ideally by matching a real address from the same company.

### Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up. It runs in your browser, so the names you type aren’t sent anywhere.

## Got more than one person to email?

On paid plans, when you upload leads to a campaign, Acquisity skips repeats, invalid addresses, people on your blocklist and people already in another campaign you haven’t archived, and shows you what it skipped. [Cold Email Agent](https://www.acquisity.ai/agents/cold-email).
